AirAsia, the Malaysian-based low-cost airline, is launching a direct route between Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Indonesia and Perth Airport in Australia. Starting in 2023, the route will run four times per week aboard an Airbus A320 with a capacity of 180 seats. The new route will deliver over 1,400 passengers each week, with plans to increase frequency as demand grows. AirAsia is the only airline currently flying this route directly, and it aims to support tourism in both Asia and the Asia-Pacific regions. The route is popular among Indonesian students studying in Australia and tourists looking to indulge in shopping, dining, and beach activities.
