Thai AirAsia X is set to submit a rehabilitation plan by mid-April that will compensate all passengers affected by COVID-19 within the next four to five months. The rehabilitation plan is being negotiated with creditors and the airline expects all six of its Airbus A330 planes to be back in operation before next month’s Songkran holiday. The airline has faced technical obstacles which caused it to reschedule and cancel some flights to Osaka in Japan in late March and April, however Thai AirAsia X’s popular routes between Bangkok and Tokyo, Osaka, and Seoul have already recovered to more than 50% of their pre-pandemic frequencies. The airline expects to report a profit this year based on estimated revenue of more than B42 billion and 20 million projected passengers for the year, with Chinese passengers accounting for 20% in terms of numbers and 30% in revenue.
