LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) —
At 3:13 p.m. on Sunday, a flight from Washington, D.C. to Pensacola had to emergency land at Lynchburg Regional Airport.
This plane was a CR9 aircraft and was American Airlines flight 5278.
According to Andrew Lagala with the Lynchburg Regional Airport, the pilot reported pressurization issues.
This caused the flight to emergency land at Lynchburg Regional Airport.
All 79 passengers and crew deplaned and are safe. These folks are currently at the Lynchburg Regional Airport.
American Airlines headquarters is coordinating a recovery flight to take these folks to Pensacola.
Lagala said a recovery flight from D.C. is coming to Lynchburg at 6:30 p.m. and will leave for Pensacola at 7 p.m.
