Dubai (ANTARA) – Emirates Airline yang berbasis di Dubai, Uni Emirat Arab (UEA), telah menerbangkan lebih dari 14 juta penumpang antara Juni dan Agustus, menandai salah satu musim panas tersibuk yang pernah ada, kantor berita resmi WAM melaporkan pada Rabu (23/8/2023).

Selama periode tersebut, Emirates telah mengoperasikan hampir 50.000 penerbangan ke dan dari 140 kota, dengan rata-rata faktor keterisian kursi lebih dari 80 persen di seluruh jaringan globalnya, kata laporan itu.

Pengunjung masuk yang dibawa oleh maskapai ini terutama berasal dari Inggris, India, Jerman, Pakistan, Arab Saudi, China, Mesir dan Kuwait, tambahnya.

Menurut laporan tersebut, lebih dari 35 persen pengunjung Dubai yang bepergian dengan Emirates adalah keluarga, dengan rata-rata masa tinggal lebih dari dua minggu.

Tercatat bahwa kota ini telah menerima lebih dari 8,5 juta pengunjung pada paruh pertama tahun 2023, naik lebih dari 1 juta dibandingkan periode yang sama tahun lalu.

Permintaan perjalanan di seluruh jaringan global maskapai penerbangan ini kuat dan tangguh meskipun tekanan biaya hidup meningkat di banyak negara, WAM mengutip pernyataan Direktur Komersial Emirates Adnan Kazim.

Laporan tersebut juga mencatat bahwa bahkan setelah booming di musim panas, pemesanan penerbangan internasional maskapai tersebut tidak menunjukkan tanda-tanda mereda dalam beberapa bulan mendatang.

Maskapai ini mengantisipasi lonjakan lainnya di musim dingin karena Dubai dijadwalkan menjadi tuan rumah serangkaian konferensi global dan acara olahraga, menurut laporan itu.
