Google on Tuesday announced a slew of new features for Android users. The search giant has added a host of features to its instant messaging app called Messages. Some of the features include end-to-end encryption, easy access to emojis, voice access, updates to the Android Auto app which will make it easier for Android Auto users to personalise their launcher screen directly from their phone and lots more.
The Middle East’s largest airline, Emirates, announced on Tuesday a net loss of $5.5 billion over the past year as revenue fell by more than 66% due to global travel restrictions sparked by the coronavirus pandemic.
It marks the first time in more than three decades that the Dubai-based airline’s parent group has not churned out a profit, underscoring just how dramatic an impact COVID-19 has had on the aviation industry. The Dubai-based airline said revenue had declined by $8.4 billion, even as operating costs decreased by 46%.
Metal-to-oil conglomerate Vedanta will pay families of any of its employees dying of Covid, the last drawn fixed salary till the notional date of retirement as it expanded its pandemic cover for its employees, their families, and business partners. It announced an ex gratia payment of ₹10 lakh each to the families of the deceased business partners and spending of around ₹12.6 crore to procure vaccines in bulk for the Vedanta family and all its business partners.
