The Ethiopian Airlines has announced plans to begin regular flight operations from Karachi to Addis Ababa on May 2, 2023, connecting South Asian nations with the entire African continent. The ambassador of Ethiopia to Pakistan, Jemal Beker Abdula, believes that this new initiative will strengthen diplomatic and economic ties between the two countries and be a “game changer” for Pakistan, giving it direct access to African markets. The airline plans to operate four flights a week. The inaugural flight will depart from Addis Ababa’s Bole International Airport on May 1, 2023, and land at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport on May 2 of the same year.
