Dubai-based budget airline, flydubai, is increasing its seat capacity to 5 million to accommodate an expected surge in passenger numbers over the summer season. That’s an additional 1 million seats to the airline’s operations and comes after a strong Q1 this year, where passenger numbers were up by 50% to 2.35 million. Flydubai is also launching nine new destinations for the summer season. The airline is hoping that increased fuel prices won’t hamper demand as it expects delivery of 17 aircraft from Boeing this year.
