The traffic light system that has been in place since the start of the pandemic is set to be scrapped at the end of this month.
A new set of rules will be announced on October 1, according to a recent briefing by Health Secretary Sajid Javid.
The current system puts countries on corresponding coloured lists, red, amber or green – which dictate the level of quarantine you need to carry out upon return to the UK.

Red countries require quarantine for 10 days but the government have advised people not to travel to anywhere unless it is a green list country.
However, these rules are set to be replaced.
Transport Secretary Grant Shapps will announce more details of this before the next Global Travel Taskforce review on October 1.
Speaking in the Commons, Mr Javid said the UK has had “strong defences at the border” and “we have already relaxed the rules for fully vaccinated travellers”.
He added: “We will be providing a new framework for international travel. The Transport Secretary will be announcing details ahead of review point on October 1.”
