Kibe, who died while undergoing treatment at the Aga Khan Hospital, led a group of billionaires from the region, including Royal Media Services chairman SK Macharia.
The council was launched in 2015 and registered as a company limited by guarantee in 2018.

Peter Munga serves as the coordinator of the Muranga Council of Eminent Persons.
The Equity Bank founder retired as chairman in 2018 but remained as a board member.
He earned KSh 52 million as fees in the financial year ended 2019, according to the bank’s 2020 annual report.
Munga is also the proprietor of Pioneer Group of schools and holds a major stake in Britam, among other ventures.
In 2020, he earned KSh 7.1 million as a non-executive director at Britam Insurance.
