Wizz Air Holdings, a Central and Eastern European low-cost airline, reported a substantial increase in passenger numbers for March 2023. The airline carried 4.3 million passengers, up from 2.4 million in the same month in 2022. This also marks a significant increase in the rolling twelve-month period, with Wizz Air carrying 51.1 million passengers compared to 27.1 million in the previous year. The load factor, which measures how full a plane is, rose by 5.9 percentage points to 92.2%. These figures signify a rise in travel demand, likely due to the loosening of Covid-19 restrictions and an increased sense of confidence among travelers.
