The Brașov International Airport in Transylvania, Romania, is becoming more attractive to budget airlines, with both Dan Air and Wizz Air announcing plans to launch flights from the airport. Dan Air has claimed that 90% of the airports it approached replied positively to the airline, although Adrian Veștea, chairman of the Brașov County Council, was unable to confirm the statement. Dan Air’s CEO, Matt Ian David, revealed that no official announcement had been made but highlighted that the airport had free slots available. Meanwhile, Wizz Air plans to launch flights from the airport from 15 June, although no routes have been officially announced. Other airlines, including Air Connect, HiSky and Animawings, have already announced plans to operate flights from the airport.
