Wizz Air is adding a new ultra-low-fare route from London Luton Airport to Brasov in Romania in August, with flights scheduled three times per week from August 2, 2023. Brasov is known as one of the best-preserved medieval cities in Europe, and is often referred to as the “gateway to Transylvania” due to its proximity to Bran Castle, also known as Dracula Castle. Wizz Air is already the largest operator at Luton Airport, with over 60 services, and it now offers nearly 30 routes from Gatwick and 63 destinations and routes from Luton. The airline has been named as one of the world’s top 10 safest airlines by airlineratings.com and was named Airline of the Year by ATW in 2020 and 2023. It has also been recognized for its sustainability efforts, winning the “Most Sustainable Low-Cost Airline” award at the World Finance Sustainability Awards 2022, and the “Global Environmental Sustainability Airline Group of the Year” award at the CAPA-Centre for Aviation Awards for Excellence.
