Ryanair and Wizz Air saw an increase in the number of passengers they carried in March compared to the previous year and February. Ryanair carried 12.6 million passengers in March, up 12% from a year earlier, while Wizz Air carried 4.3 million passengers, up 72% from the previous year. Ryanair’s rolling 12-month passenger numbers surged 74% to 168.6 million, while Wizz Air’s rose 89% to 51.1 million. Both airlines also saw an improvement in their load factor, which measures how much of the available seating capacity was filled, in March compared to a year earlier. However, the start of Russia’s war in Ukraine hurt Ryanair’s passenger traffic in March 2022.
