Hungarian low-cost airline, Wizz Air, has announced a new route from Rome Fiumicino airport to Sphinx International Airport in Cairo. The route will operate three times a week from June 15, 2023, using the Airbus A321neo. This will be the second route from Italy to the Egyptian capital, with the airline already announcing two flights per week from Milan. The announcement follows other expansions of Wizz Air, including add-on services such as in-flight meals and Wi-Fi, as well as partnering up with travel companies to offer accommodation and car rentals. Wizz Air has been rapidly expanding despite the pandemic, adding new routes, aircraft, and bases.
