United Airlines’ award winning mobile app is about to get even better, with the planned release of a new games section tomorrow which will include a flight simulator.
Flight Simulator In United Airlines App
Check the App Store tomorrow for the latest update to the United Airlines app, which will include a new section called Game Center. In addition to a Sudoku game, a new flight simulator will allow passengers to pilot a Boeing 787 aircraft. It will even have multiple levels to challenge your skills.
United’s mobile app is the best in the business, making it extremely easy to book flights, check-in, make changes, and upgrade. When it is time to board, you are notified and it will even direct you to your gate. Additionally, the app provides access to United’s onboard intranet system, which streams hundreds of movies and videos on demand. Those are particularly helpful on aircraft which do not have seatback monitors.
With the addition of games, the app further evolves as not only a tool for booking flights and downloading boarding passes, but for helping to get through a flight.
While United offers a large library of videos and movies and will now offer games, it does not offer music on-demand, instead offering a limited selection of audio tracks only on seatback monitors. This dates back to the Smisek era, in which United’s once-vast musical library was eliminated in a cost-savings effort. Hopefully United will eventually restore it.
CONCLUSION
United Airlines is adding a flight simulator to its mobile app. Download the update on 21 April and give it a try…I know I look forward to doing so.
