An estimated 135m coronavirus vaccines doses have been given in the UK since the start of the pandemic.
Nearly 48m people in the UK – around 70% of the population – are estimated to have been fully vaccinated so far and another 6% have been partially vaccinated according to Our World in Data.
For many it has meant the chance to return to some normality with vaccination mandatory for entry into some places and travel to certain countries. Travel companies have also reported a bounce in demand after the rules were relaxed for people returning to Wales from abroad.
While some countries have relatively few entry rules for unvaccinated people others have banned them altogether.
In recent days Australia has received international attention after tennis player Novak Djokovic was refused entry into the country ahead of this month’s Australian Open due to concerns over his medical exemption from receiving a coronavirus vaccine.
The world number one, a known vaccine sceptic who has previously refused to disclose his Covid vaccine status, won his appeal in court on Monday, January 10, against the refusal to allow him into Australia.
