Which airline came out on top as the safest in the world?
TRAVEL may be more difficult than usual due to the ongoing Covid pandemic, but airlines and vacationers continue to fly.
Which airline in the world is the most secure?
Many vacations begin – and end – with a flight, and picking the best airline is an important part of the travel planning process.
With so many carriers to choose from, travelers may be unsure where to begin their search for the best airline.
In its annual ranking, AirlineRatings.com has named the world’s safest airline.
Air New Zealand surpassed Australia’s Qantas to take the top spot this year.
According to Geoffrey Thomas, editor in chief of AirlineRatings.com, the top 20 airlines in the world were all outstanding.
“Our top 20 safest airlines 2022 are always at the forefront of safety innovation, operational excellence, and the introduction of new, more advanced aircraft like the Airbus A350 and Boeing 787,” he said.
“There is very little difference between the top 20, they are all standouts,” he added.
Because of its numerous technological advancements and cockpit improvements, Air New Zealand came in first.
ANZ’s pilot training is extensive, and its fleet is relatively new.
“Air New Zealand has won countless awards and has a firm focus on safety and its customers,” Geoffrey said, “and over the past 18 months, Covid has added yet another dimension to the challenges.”
The list was compiled by looking at recent crashes, serious incidents over the past two years, aviation governing body audits, government audits, fleet age, and Covid policies.
In terms of incidents, Geoffrey said that every airline has them, and that they aren’t always the carrier’s fault.
“How the flight crew handles these incidents distinguishes a good airline from an unsafe one,” he explained.
After three years at the top, Qantas lost its title as the world’s safest airline.
TAP Air Portugal was also voted Europe’s safest…
