The British high commission in Dhaka on Monday issued an advisory asking the potential visa applicants not to make any payment linked to travel until receiving their visas.
‘We urge customers and partners not to make any payments linked to travel (such as flights or hotels) until they have received their visas,’ the high commission said in an advisory, adding, ‘This is an existing UK travel advice but is particularly relevant during the current situation.’
Due to extremely high global demand following the easing of travel restrictions, standard UK visitor visas ‘continue to experience a significant delay in processing,’ according to the announcement made at its website.
The high commission also extended apology for the inconvenience caused to the customers admitting that the delay the visa seekers were facing was ‘really difficult’ for them.
The UK Visas and Immigration division ‘is working’ to process all applications as soon as possible, it said.
The high commission also expressed inability to offer updates on individual cases.
