BRITISH Airways has been slammed by passengers for their “unhygienic” kitchen area – which was covered in FILTH.
An area of an Airbus was left covered in rubbish, including sachets of milk, with customers being left disgusted by what they saw.
In a picture seen by The Sun, wrappers and dirt covered the floor in the kitchen area where the food and drink trolley is stored.
Speaking to The Sun one passenger said: “There was milk and other things on the floor and god knows what else is down there.
“I just thought it was absolutely disgraceful, that it was just in the eye line of customers and nothing was being done about it.
“After covid you would expect that things would be cleaner, and they would be hotter on hygiene but that isn’t the case.
“It isn’t up to the crew to clean it up, but something needs to be done about it. It’s terrible that BA allows the place where they prepare their food to be in that grim of a state.”
A source added: “It isn’t just that one aircraft, cleaning has not been done on any of the planes during covid.
“You would think that those planes would have had a deep clean, because that kind of rubbish can breed bacteria and god knows what else.
“They haven’t been deep cleaned or repaired, there is nothing wrong with them from a safety point of view but the hygiene is awful.”
A spokesman for British Airways said: “We insist on very high standards of cleanliness on our aircraft and are committed to providing the best experience for our customers.
“We clean every aircraft after each flight. We are looking into this individual case further.”
It comes after the airline announced that they were axing 16,000 summer flights and staff were threatening to walk out in a row over pay.
