Airbnb has suspended all accommodation offerings in Myanmar due to the country’s strict laws forbidding foreigners from staying in unregistered hotels and guesthouses. The platform has informed the affected hosts of the move, adding that their listings will no longer appear on Airbnb’s site. The company stated that local listings were limited due to restrictions imposed by government regulations, although it has provided no indication of when or if services will be resumed. Expedia, Booking.com and Agoda are among the booking platforms still listing properties in Myanmar.
