SYDNEY, N.S. — The Cape Breton Regional Municipality has voted to amend its marketing levy bylaw to increase the rate to three per cent and include alternative accommodations like Airbnb and Vrbo.
The decision came following a presentation by Destination Cape Breton CEO Terry Smith, who told council the extra money is needed to properly promote Cape Breton Island as a tourism destination.
