Manchester Airport has faced massive delays in recent weeks as staffing shortages have had passengers queueing out of the terminal buildings. The delays have been so bad some people have even missed their flights and had to re-book.
To compensate, many have been turning up early to try and make sure they are on their planes when they depart. However, that can create a further problem as staff struggle to handle the high number of travellers arriving at the same time, leading to further delays.
A spokesperson for Manchester Airport told the MEN : “We encourage passengers to arrive at the earliest time recommended by their airline, which is usually when check-in for their flight opens. Arriving earlier than that is not recommended, as passengers will not be able to check-in and may add to congestion in the check-in hall.”
