Agoda is partnering with Thai officials in the Kaiburi district to promote community-based tourism. The project is a joint effort between the Prachuap Khiri Khan Provincial Administration Organisation, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and Agoda. The online travel agency will be promoting community-based tourism products such as homestays and cultural tours, to give visitors an immersive experience. All parties involved hope to stimulate innovation and develop sustainable tourism while creating jobs and improving livelihoods for local residents. Furthermore, Agoda volunteers have been leading wildlife conservation efforts in Kui Buri National Park, which is a further attraction in the area. Agoda previously launched a community-based tourism promotion programme in 2022, which has since been implemented in various locations throughout Thailand. This latest initiative is expected to expand in collaboration with the Province of Prachuap Khiri Khan and the TAT Prachuap Khiri Khan Office.
