MakeMyTrip, the online travel services provider, has announced plans to grow its franchise base by over 50% in 2021 in a bid to expand its reach in smaller cities and towns across India. The company aims to tap into the increasing number of airports in India, set to grow from 140 to 220 by 2025. MakeMyTrip is currently partnering with 146 franchises and plans to expand this number rapidly, focusing on markets in Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Punjab, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu. The company is also expected to leverage its recently launched budget brand, Value+, to attract budget-conscious travellers.
