South Korean travel platform Yanolja has received regulatory approval for its takeover of Interpark’s travel business. Yanolja had previously acquired a 70% stake in Interpark’s e-commerce business, including travel services, for KRW301.1bn ($231.3m) in 2021, and reported the deal to the Fair Trade Commission last year. Following a review, the regulator said there were “no concerns that the corporate merger would practically hurt competition” in the domestic online travel platform market. Yanolja plans to expand its tourism portfolio by integrating Interpark’s travel services into its platform.
