The Tour Operators Association of Bangladesh (TOAB) is set to host a three-day travel and tourism fair from March 2 to 4 in the capital, Dhaka. The 11th First Trip Bangladesh Travel and Tourism Fair (BTTF)-2023 aims to help the travel and leisure sector recover the Taka 600bn revenue it lost due to the pandemic. The fair will be held with the support of the Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry, Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation, Bangladesh Tourism Board, FBCCI and Bangladesh Tourist Police. Eleven countries, including India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, the Maldives, Vietnam, Japan, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates, are expected to participate. The fair will feature 146 stalls and offer seminars, roundtable discussions and other events. There will also be a section dedicated to local tourism, according to Md Rafiuzzaman, TOAB past president.
