The Argentinian ultra-low-cost carrier Flybondi has recently received its ninth aircraft, and it is on pace to close the year with ten narrowbody jetliners. Flybondi is looking to increase its capacity in the South American country as it has gained market share in the Argentinian domestic market in the last few months.
The newest aircraft
On Friday, Flybondi announced it received an additional aircraft to its fleet, a Boeing 737-800NG with a capacity to carry 189 passengers, with a future registration LV-KEG. This is a 12-year-old plane first delivered by Boeing to Garuda Indonesia, in September 2010. Its owner is the leasing company FTAI Aviation, and its current registration is N319FA. Before being delivered to Flybondi, the narrowbody was stored at Blytheville Arkansas International Airport (BYH).
Flybondi operates exclusively with Boeing 737-800 aircraft. The airline currently flies to 17 domestic destinations throughout Argentina and has two international destinations in Brazil, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo (and next month, it will also launch flights to Florianópolis).
According to data by FlightRadar24.com, the newest Flybondi aircraft left Blytheville on November 17. The original route of the aircraft was Blytheville-Guayaquil-Buenos Aires, but, for some unknown reason, the plane diverted to Panama’s Tocumen International Airport (PTY), adding a stop along the way. The 737-800NG finally touched down at Ezeiza International Airport (EZE), Buenos Aires, on Friday at around 20:00 local time. The airline is currently doing all the administrative work to get the aircraft certified and registered in Argentina before it can be used in Flybondi’s route map.
