On Monday, a torch relay was held in Tagaytay City to mark the upcoming 32nd Southeast Asian Games, which will begin on May 5 in Cambodia. Among the participants were Cambodia’s tourism minister, the Cambodian Ambassador to the Philippines, and the President of the Philippine Olympic Committee. Athletes from cycling, taekwondo, football, kickboxing, and boxing were also present, as well as the head of the Philippine Paralympic Committee, a commissioner from the Philippine Sports Commission, and Team Philippines’ chef de mission to the Cambodia SEA Games. The relay began near the Tagaytay City BMX and Skate Park at Delos Reyes Avenue, before moving to Mahogany Road and then back to the starting point via Isaac Tolentino Avenue. This event took place a few weeks before the SEA Games and is part of the celebrations being held not only for sports, but for peace and camaraderie in the region.
