On June 25, 2024, the Finance Minister of India chaired a key pre-budget conference in New Delhi that was attended by representatives from the Federation of Hotel and Restaurant Associations of India (FHRAI), along with other major associations from the trade and service sectors. The meeting was conducted in anticipation of the 2024-25 budget. The FHRAI, acting as the spokesperson for the country’s hospitality sector, presented several important suggestions aimed at bolstering the tourism and hospitality industry and expanding India’s global tourism potential. Displaying optimism for India’s future as a global tourism powerhouse by 2047, the association proposed essential modifications to existing regulations to sustain this development.
