The Kashmir police have issued an advisory alerting people to be cautious of suspicious calls from international mobile numbers. Reports have emerged that people are calling from fake numbers and spreading rumours about the G20 meeting scheduled to be held in Srinagar between May 22 and 24. The police have instructed people not to respond to any of the suspicious numbers, including +44 7520 693559, +447418343648 and +44 7520 693134 or any other ISD numbers or virtual numbers. Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Kashmir Zone, Vijay Kumar, has said that these numbers are being used to spread anti-national messages and has requested people to remain alert towards such attempts and inform the police if they receive such calls. Cyber Police Kashmir has taken cognizance of the matter and is investigating. The police have also reiterated that security measures at vulnerable locations will be enhanced to avoid any untoward incident during the G20 Summit, slated for May 22-24 at the SKICC on the banks of the Dal Lake in Srinagar, which is expected to boost its tourism industry.
