Turkish actor Engin Altan Düzyatan, best known for his role in the Netflix series Barbaros and Turkish blockbuster Diriliş: Ertuğru, visited Nepal on a tour sponsored by the Nepal government to kick-start tourism following the Covid-19 pandemic. Düzyatan, who is passionate about environmental protection, has helped remove ocean waste and provide safe drinking water in poor countries, and is also involved with a charity in Pakistan. During his four-day visit to Nepal, Düzyatan visited popular tourist destinations including Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Thamel, and took part in sightseeing activities. He also announced that he would be filming a Turkish feature film in Nepal in May-June 2022. Turkish Airlines, which flies four times a week directly between Kathmandu and Istanbul with connections to destinations around the world, hopes that Düzyatan’s visit will promote Nepal as a destination in Turkey.
