Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim arrived in Beijing on March 30, accompanied by other top Malaysian officials. Anwar is scheduled to meet with China’s President Xi Jinping on March 31 to discuss the strategic aspects of the bilateral relationship, and the two will sign three memorandums of understanding (MoUs) aimed at strengthening economic ties between the two governments. Anwar will also have engagement sessions with prominent investors and Chinese business leaders, and will deliver a keynote address at a Malaysia-China business forum. At the same time, Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong arrived in Beijing on a separate official visit with a delegation of 50 officials. Mr Lee will meet President Xi and Premier Li, as well as the Chairman of the National People’s Congress, the Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and the Secretary of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee.
