March was a busy month for Brand South Africa, with numerous initiatives and activities executed domestically, on the continent, and internationally. The 947 School Invasion partnership with the Play Your Part initiative sought to promote active citizenship and Ubuntu among youth, with visits to five schools in Gauteng. The fifth edition of the Human Rights Festival was also held, featuring hard-hitting dialogues, networking sessions, exhibitions, film festivals, poetry, and a children’s festival. Brand South Africa’s Global Markets Unit hosted several events in Ghana, including the Global South African Reception, where over 500 South Africans doing business in Ghana were recognized. The unit also participated in the Africa Dialogue and Investment Summit and welcomed her Excellency President Samia Suluhu Hassan of Tanzania for her first State Visit. State visits were also hosted with Belgium, South Africa’s second-biggest trading partner. Finally, the State of The Nation Brand Report event was held to discuss the findings and insights that define South Africa’s affairs. Brand South Africa calls on South Africans to assume a role of active citizenship to help drive the country to greatness.
