The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) is offering four special sightseeing train trips in April to promote domestic tourism and help generate income for local communities. The train trips will have a historical theme and cater to the increasing demand among Thai nationals for cultural travel. The initiative is being supported by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and other agencies. The four trips are priced at THB1,499 per person and have a maximum capacity of 200 passengers each. The programmes are focused on four Thai provinces – Saraburi, Chachoengsao, Ayutthaya, and Ratchaburi – each of which has a unique place in Thai history and culture. Space is limited, therefore travellers must book early. Further information is available on the SRT Facebook page or its hotline.
