The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and popular dating app Tinder have partnered to launch “Single Journey Season 2” for solo travelers who want to find a travel partner and make their journey more meaningful. The first season of Single Journey offered three different tours in December 2020 to 100 single travelers who won free tickets through a Tinder campaign. The second season kicked off in April 2021 with two main events, Babe Fest and Single on the Beach, allowing singles to meet and mingle. The campaign recommends additional trips for solo travelers to explore various attractions in Thailand. Each suggested location will also be rated as a safe spot for solo travelers. The campaign details and conditions have not yet been released, but the first season was limited to single Thai citizens. Thai citizens of Gen Y tend to stay single and focus on working for success, with the numbers of this group increasing every year since 2017. Many people’s decision not to have children is due to the economic crisis and high cost of living.
