Qatar has shifted its focus from hosting the FIFA World Cup to boosting its cultural and tourism industries. The country’s tourism and cultural boom is part of the Qatar National Vision 2030 strategy and has been driven by government investment. The country aims to increase visitors from six million to 12 million per year and the contribution of the tourism sector to its GDP from 7% to 12% by 2030. Projects include public art installations, exhibitions, film, fashion, hospitality, cultural heritage, and performing arts. The country is also investing in museums, including the Qatar Auto Museum, Art Mill and the Orientalist Lusail Museum.
