Vietnam’s tourism industry saw a 30-fold increase in international arrivals in Q1 2021, with more than 2.69 million tourists generating an estimated VND161tn ($6.8bn) in revenue from lodging and dining services. Some provinces particularly benefitted, including Da Nang, Quang Ninh, Can Tho and Ho Chi Minh City. The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism launched a series of events aimed at attracting more international visitors, and the extension of the e-visa validity is expected to boost arrivals.
