Hairdressers will be allowed to re-open in Auckland later this week as a means of trialling the Government’s new vaccine passport system.
Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern announced during Monday’s post-Cabinet press conference that the region’s hairdressers and barbers will be able to reopen from Thursday.
Clients must use the My Vaccine Pass certificates for entry, no walk-ins will be allowed, staff must all be vaccinated and these businesses will be required to operate as if they were under alert level 2 restrictions.
Ardern said hairdressers were chosen to trial vaccine passes because out of all the venues still closed, they “posed the lowest risk by reopening.”
