Iván Duque Márquez, President of the Republic of Colombia, and senior government members met with ITF Secretary-General Young Tae Kim in Paris today for talks on further developing Colombia’s transport and mobility system.
Colombia joined the International Transport Forum in May 2021 as the organisation’s 63rd member country. President Duque’s delegation includes Minister of Finance José Manuel Restrepo, Minister of Transport Angela Orozco Gomez and Minister of Environment and Sustainable Development Carlos Eduardo Correa.
The high-level meeting explored how the ITF can support some of the Colombian government’s main transport-related infrastructure projects and policy initiatives. Colombia is pursuing an ambitious infrastructure investment programme and has committed itself to reaching net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.
