JOHANNESBURG – The One-Day International series between South Africa and the Netherlands has been cancelled.

According to Cricket South Africa, the decision was taken as a result of fears emanating from the new COVID-19 variant.
The visiting team had mounting concerns around travel bans and restrictions on flights from South Africa being imposed by several countries around the world.
The Proteas and the Dutch team had only played one game in their three match ODI series, a game that was abandoned due to rain in Centurion on Friday. The Netherlands team will remain in the Bio Safe Environment hotel until their return has been finalised with the support of CSA.
