Travel Lane County, an agency in Oregon that promotes tourism, has launched a hearing loop accessibility programme with hotel and attraction partners. The addition ensures customers with T-coil-enabled hearing aids or cochlear implants can hear conversations clearly by delivering staff’s voice directly into their hearing device. The programme will be implemented in hotels and attractions throughout Lane County in order to provide front-line staff with better information to offer guests. Loop Lane County is also working on installing hearing loops in performing arts venues including the Hult Center and the Florence Events Center, as well as locations such as Eugene Airport and hotel front desks. Funding for the programme was increased after Travel Oregon awarded Lane County a $50,000 grant.
