Travel advisors can rest easy when dealing
with American Airlines.
American has extended its New Distribution
Capability (NDC) commission through the end of the year. The program pays
10 percent commission on NDC bookings. It had been scheduled to expire on September
30.
The carrier, one of the largest in the
United States and in the world, had
just reengaged the NDC program in June.
“Continuous pricing is where the
industry is going, and it creates a great incentive to utilize NDC. It’s great
for customers,” Scott Laurence, American’s vice president
of partnerships and retailing, said.
“They see the lowest fares. It is hard to look at that and not
think it has potential to be a really effective product for American,” Laurence continued.
Laurence declined to reveal more details about
continuous pricing.
