From 6pm tonight people travelling to Victoria from interstate will no longer need to apply for a travel permit, under new health directions rolled out in response to the state reaching its 90 per cent vaccination milestone for residents aged 12 and up.

The updated advice is in line with phase D of the national plan, which outlines the easing of domestic border restrictions as local vaccination targets are met.

As a result, specific worker permits and the red, orange and green zone permits required to enter Victoria since January will be scrapped.

Permit requirements for international arrivals and aircrew will remain in place but overseas travellers who complete their quarantine interstate will no longer need a permit to enter Victoria.
