Storm Arwen is causing travel chaos across Scotland with several busy roads closed and sections of the country’s railway off-limits.
People have been urged not to travel under any circumstances in areas such as Fife, East Lothian and Aberdeen with the risk of falling trees and debris too high.
Parts of the country are currently under a red alert for wind – the highest warning level possible. This means there is a danger to life and serious risk of damage to buildings.
The warning started on Friday at 3pm and will last until 2am on Saturday morning.
Gale-force winds between 75mph and 90mph are being felt alongside snow in some parts of the country.
The A1 is among the roads closed in both directions for safety reasons, while fallen trees causing blockages on dozens of other busy routes.
Scotrail have asked anyone stranded as a result of transport delays to get in touch with the platform help points.
