A bumper summer season that turned the clock back to the golden age of domestic holidays in the 1970s has set tills ringing across South Devon.
Hundreds of thousands of holidaymakers turned their backs on foreign holidays, packed their bags and headed west as the coronavirus continued to make overseas travel difficult.
Roads were jammed with cars and caravans, town centres and seafronts were packed with holidaymakers and local attractions saw numbers they hadn’t seen for 50 years.
