Without further ado, let’s get into it…
American Airlines Finishes 2023 On A Very Strong High…
For the last official and full week of 2023 (Being December 19-26), American Airlines handled 5,525 movements, based on a seven-day rolling average provided by the flight tracking company.
This represents an increase of 35.48% compared to the same period last year, where 4,078 movements were handled.
Below is the last four weeks’ worth of data representing the carrier:
Date | 2019 Numbers | 2022 Numbers | 2023 Numbers | Percentage Difference (2023 vs. 2022) |
November 21-28 | 3272 movements | 3976 movements | 5208 movements | +30.99% |

What Will 2024 Look Like for the Airline?
Going into the new year of 2024, American Airlines will be keen to continue with this rapid growth in flights.
Ultimately, more flights mean more passengers, thus more revenue and a better contributor to overall profit.
With the high percentage increases in flight movements, it will be interesting to see what the financial results for the full year will look like as well as what additional investments will be made within that.
But for now, all eyes will be on how the airline’s 2024 will go!
