Air Canada is set to become the launch customer of a new interior design for Airbus A220 jets which feature supersized ‘XL’ overhead bins that have 15% more capacity than the bins currently fitted on the airline’s A220 fleet.
Airspace is the name coined by Airbus for a new interior design language that was initially used on its popular fleet of Airbus A320 series aircraft and then the widebody A330neo model.
Now, Airbus is bringing the same Airspace concept to the smaller A220 model with the first plane to be kitted out with the design set to be delivered to Air Canada as the launch customer in early 2026.
