PHOENIX (AZFamily) —American Airlines is growing its hub at Phoenix Sky Harbor again as it announces new nonstop service between Provo, Utah (PVU) and Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport (PHX).

American Airlines spokesperson Frankie McLister says that starting on Oct. 7, the airline will operate daily nonstop flights from PHX year-round, giving Arizonans direct access to mountain escapes, exciting college football games, and snowy ski resorts. Travelers can book flights to Provo through the airline’s website and mobile app starting April 22.

The new nonstop service to Provo is the third destination American has added to its southwestern hub at Phoenix Sky Harbor. Earlier this year, American announced the first-ever service from Phoenix to Tijuana, Mexico, located just south of the border from San Diego and to Pasco, Wash.

American is the largest airline serving Sky Harbor in terms of size and passengers served. In 2023, American Airlines recorded 7,580 aircraft landings at Sky Harbor, compared to the airport’s second-largest airline, Southwest Airlines, which recorded 5,435 landings.
