• The Dallas Stars return to American Airlines Center after a four-game road trip to face the Washington Capitals on Sergei Zubov Retirement Night at American Airlines Center. Fans are encouraged to be in their seats by 6 p.m. for the start of the jersey retirement ceremony.
• The Stars and Capitals meet for the first time since Oct. 12, 2019, a 4-1 loss for Dallas. Forward Radek Faksa recorded the lone goal, assisted by defenseman Miro Heiskanen. Goaltender Anton Khudobin stopped 21 of 24 shots he faced.
• It marked the Stars’ first regulation loss to the Capitals at home since Oct. 17, 1995, posting a 13-0-4 record against the Capitals between the two losses.
