On May 5 at 2:55pm, the Ministry of Tourism will mark the arrival of the first commercial flight operated by Delta Airlines since borders closed in 2020.
Various activities are planned, including live music, decorations around the airport terminal and Caymanian themed refreshments.
Flight DL1988 will leave Atlanta Georgia at 12:20pm and will fly for an estimated 2 hours and 35 minutes and arrive at Owen Roberts International Airport at 2:55pm.
Beginning on March 5, a twice weekly service- on Saturdays and Sundays- will be offered by the airline from Atlanta Georgia.
According to recent reports the Atlanta-based airline expects to return to profitability in March — when spring break could help fill planes, especially if coronavirus infections are falling.
